                $1/1 Vaseline, any 3.1oz+, RP 5/22 (6/19)

There's lots of ways you could work this deal, but this looks to be the best option:
Deal Idea:
Buy 8 Knorr Lipton Sides = $8
Use (4) $0.50/2, doubled = Less $4
Final cost = $4, or $0.50 each
You’ll also earn $0.20 off per gallon of gas. If you purchase 10 gallons of gas, that’s another $2savings making the final cost $2 or $0.25 per item. If you add two more add items with manufacturers coupons (for 10 coupons total), you’ll earn $0.30 off per gallon!

The add doesn’t say anything about a limit on how many times you can work this deal, so I think I may need to give a call and ask. I don’t have any Q-tips or pasta sauce in my stockpile yet, so I’ll be making a second trip with John’s card for this transaction:

Deal Idea 2:
Buy 6 Ragu Pasta Sauce = $10
Buy 2 Q-Tips = $5.98
Use (2) $1.25/3 Ragu  = Less $2.50
Use (2) $0.30/1 Q-Tips, doubled = Less $1.20
Final cost = $12.28, after $0.20/gallon on 15 gallons of gas(John has a bigger tank) = $9.28 or $1.16 each
Not as good as deal 1, but...

Tops Gas Points

Today is the last day to use your Gas Points at Tops. If you don't, you lose them. So, even if you can only squeeze a few bucks in your tank DON'T WASTE THEM!

Tomorrow starts a new round of earning gas points. There will be an opportunity to earn an extra 200 points. When I've had a little more opportunity to research the eligible items, I'll post a deal scenario. They're giving points for using manufacturer's coupons again - 10 points per coupon up to 100 points per transaction. In other words, you only get points on the first 10 coupons you use. I'm loving this points opportunity!
In my opinion, it's worth making extra trips in order to use no more than 10 coupons per trip. Now, I drive right past Tops at least twice a day and it's only a 3 minute drive from my house. If you have to drive further, you'll need to do some math and decide if it's worth  extra trips. I've also been know to take my husband or son shopping with me and do two separate orders. I'm not big on the idea of doing multiple transactions on my own unless I'm in the store at a really slow time, but that's just me!

I found this info on another blog, so I can't guaruntee it's legitimacy. I went ahead and gave it a try figuring if it shows up whoot, if it doesn't oh well!

Get eCoupons for CVS, Rite Aid & Tops!

I was very excited to see that some of our local stores are now participating in eCoupon programs! If you aren't familiar with these programs, the concept is pretty simple: log on to the eCoupon website, select the coupons you want, load them onto your shopping card(s), shop & scan your card, get your savings. The one caveat is that the discount does not come off your grocery bill. It instead goes into your SavingStar account. Once you reach a $5 balance, you can choose how you wish to receive your payout (PayPal account, an Amazon gift card, or a donation to American Forests).
These do not double like a manufacturer's coupon. After some reading on the web, I've not been able to get a clear answer as to whether or not you can stack these discounts with a regular coupon - some say yes, some say no. It may depend on the individual store. I guess it's going to take some trial and error to find out for sure, but I'm willing to give it a go.
If you'd like to join me in this latest couponing adventure, sign up was quick and simple. You'll want to have your Tops, CVS, and Rite Aid cards handy (you'll enter your card numbers to add them to your account) and go to SavingStar to sign up.

Great Big Thank You!

I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has been bringing me their extra/expired coupons! I have a bundle ready to go to Spangdahlem AirForce Base in Germany. The grand total for food and non-food coupons is $1436.50!! And I've barely skimmed the surface of the collection of coupons I have!! Keep them coming folks!
On a somewhat related note, I have applied to adopt two US soldiers - 1 male, 1 female. I've started collecting freebies to send to them - deodorant, razors, panty liners, gum. If anyone would like to donate some goodies to send along, please let me know. Other things that are often requested include Slim Jims, beef jerky, chocolate (they don't care if it melts on the way!), eye drops, oatmeal packets, and tampons. When I have detailed requests from our soldiers, I will post them.

Wegmans "Consistently Low Prices"

As you may know, Wegman's has reduced their weekly sale flyer from what was once about a 10-page ad down to a meager 4- to 6-page ad. The new ads are also mostly store-brand items. While there are still name-brand items on sale each week, you have to go in the store to find them. So, if you want to get extreme with your couponing at Wegman's, you're going to have to spend some time in the store and either lug all you coupons with you or make a second trip. I know I don't have time for all that, so I find myself very frustrated by this marketing decision. I did, however, find a post today on Frugally Blonde which provided a link to the prices Wegman's is guaranteeing for the rest of the year. While this doesn't offer much opportunity to get those super deals, I think it does give us a good point of reference when it comes to deciding on stock-up price points. To clarify, my thought is if you can get a better price than these, it's probably a safe bet that it's a good time to stockpile - especially if you're talking about a national brand item. Just a few of the items you'll find on the list:

  • Bananas, $0.49/lb.
  • Wegman's Solid White Albacore Tuna in Water, $0.99
  • Russer Wunderbar Bologna, $2.49/lb. (this one we may see coupons for)
  • Wegman's Food You Feel Good About Yogurt, Lowfat, various flavors, $0.40 each
Hmmm... I had intended to provide more here, but the Wegman's website has apparently crashed. You can, however, find the full list on the Wegman's website hereYou'll need to sign in to get the prices for your specific store. If you haven't signed up with the Wegman's website, I recommend that you do so. Last week I received a $1 off a $5 produce purchase. This week I got $1 off a $5 frozen food purchase. As a member, you can also look up items to check store prices and availability as well as create a shopping list.
